The Upward Bound Program serves 127 low-income students from local high schools, providing academic support, college motivation and counseling, career advising, social/cultural activities, and detailed college admission assistance.
During the school year participants also attend Saturday classes; curriculum includes academic enrichment, tutoring, and pre-college skills development.
Upward Bound continues to offer a six-week, summer residential program. In addition, the Upward Bound Math and Science Program enrolls 69 students in a year round program with a six-week residential program.
Participants receive intensive science and mathematics instruction and attend summer field trips, including visits to local industry sites and environmental education centers.
Now in its forty-second year of campus service, this program is the oldest in the United States and has consistently ranked first in the state in placing seniors in four-year universities.
