“Aloha, my name is Hazel Amina and I am from Hawaii.”  As the Head Women Counselor with the UCB UB & UBMS program since 1998, I have nurtured my passion to make a difference in others.  I earned my Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  I have sixteen (16) years of experience with TRIO programs (UB, UBMS, SSS) from the University of Hawaii, Manoa to University of California, Berkeley.  Through my experiences I am constantly acquiring many skills and knowledge, broadening my social and cultural awareness, establishing lifelong friendships, and educating others of the college admissions and financial aid processes.  I am dedicated to working with low-income, first generation college students because I see hope, potential and choices in them.  We all have choices and seeking help and resources is making a good choice.
