Weekly Tutorial

Upward Bound will continue to provide weekly tutorials.  This allows you many opportunities to receive help after school at the Berkeley Office and on Saturdays.

Any Upward Bound student receiving below a “C” grade in any college preparatory class must attend tutoring for one (1) hour each week for each class below a “C” grade.  Tutoring is also available to any student that requests it.

Procedures for being tutored at the Upward Bound office are as follows:

1. Call Munyiga or Thelma Woods at least two days BEFORE you need a tutor.  Please leave a message if you reach voice mail with the following information:
2. your name & phone number
3. the subject you want to be tutored and
4. the day and time you can come into the office

If you want tutoring for Monday, you must call by Thursday the week before.

1. Arrive on time and be prepared for your tutorial session.
2. If for some reason you cannot attend, you must call and cancel In advance.  Failure to do so will result in non-participation in future program activities or possible suspension.
3. Avoid last minute cancellations of tutorial appointments! 
4. Tutoring on Fridays is by appointment only.

Tutored subjects include but are not limited to: Math, Science, English, Social Science, Spanish & French.
